
Material Handler - 3rd shift

Responsibilities
Job Summary: Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision and handles basic issues and problems.
Key Accountabilities:
Operate forklifts including counterbalance and 4-directional (e.g., Raymond reach, combi-lift, etc.). Typical loads are skids of varying sizes (2'x4' up to 2'x12') and raw material bundles of 1' x 12' length; 2000 lbs per bundle. Fill out documentation on raw material movements and transfers, enter data into our ERP system, prepare skids for shipment, perform visual inspections, move material from racking to production cell, load/unload trucks.
Quality Control:
Inspect raw material for accuracy and adherence to specifications; visually inspect packaging materials. Main tools needed are tape measure and calipers.
Maintenance:
Perform routine basic maintenance checks on the forklift to keep it in good working order, reporting issues immediately to the supervisor.
Technical Skills:
3rd‑party forklift certification for counterbalance and 4-directional reach truck. Basic computer skills for data entry.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
Ability to perform basic math skills
Previous forklift experience
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
Safety mindset
Preferred Requirements:
Use of handheld measuring tools
Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
