
Packing Operator Day Shift

Job Purpose Summary
The Packing Big Filler Operator is a member of the Packing Team reporting directly to the Packing Supervisor. The role is accountable for the set‑up, operation, and cleanliness of the tote and drum filler to meet established quality and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Maintains and utilizes warehouse space in an efficient manner
Understands and stages needed materials to perform filler operations
Ability to properly connect/disconnect ISO tankers, supplying oil to the filler operation
The critical understanding of identifying the oil to be connected to the filling line
Understands the importance of positive control of all filler documentation
Understand the requirement and be properly trained in the packing department CCP#1 – Filter change
Able to identify orders based on the supplied packing schedule
Full understanding of lot numbers assigned to each order
Understand and accomplish proper flushing of the packing line between orders
Familiarize and follow packing SOPs to ensure proper procedures
Complete seal application and documentation of seal numbers to production documentation
Able to build Spacekraft totes and properly align drums for filling
Understand the importance of food safety concerning the sealing of drums and totes
Knowledge and understanding of nitrogen blanket requirements for totes and drums
Ensure a clean and safe work environment adhering to food safety guidelines
Learn and maintain proper use of personal protection equipment (P.P.E.)
Understand and follow the requirement for the use of hair coverings and hand washing in the packing department
Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and the Plant Manager
Ensure all tasks are completed safely as assigned to the shift
Participate in all audits, ensuring all areas are audit‑ready at all times
Follow all safety rules and requirements, attending safety meetings, and tailgates
Other duties as directed or required.
Required Qualifications
Able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
Intermediate level in general computer applications use
Able to understand written or oral instructions in English
Skills and Competencies
Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders
Must be able to clearly communicate to co‑workers and management
Intermediate level in general computer applications use
Able to understand written or oral instructions in English
Must be, or become forklift operator certified
Working Conditions
Able to work in all weather conditions
Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as directed by management
