Position Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the company's accounting operations. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to handle large data volumes, and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Month‑End Close Activities
Participate in month‑end close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries for accuracy and completeness
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with internal deadlines
Reconciliation & Analysis
Prepare and review complex monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts
Reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and assist with preparation of financial statements
Reconcile intercompany accounts and post eliminating journal entries
Financial Compliance & Reporting
Substantiate financial transactions by providing audit‑ready documentation
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for quarterly reviews and year‑end audits
Research issues, clarify information, and prepare detailed financial analysis
Fixed Assets & Revenue Recognition
Manage accruals, fixed assets, and revenue recognition processes in compliance with company policies and GAAP
Process Improvement
Identify and implement efficiencies in the month‑end close cycle to reduce process time
Propose and execute enhancements to accounting processes and tools
Collaboration & Leadership
Provide mentoring and support to junior accounting staff to support professional growth and development
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and streamline processes
Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support accounting and finance objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
4‑7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within large organizations ($2B+ revenue)
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and intermediate skills in Word and Outlook
Proven ability to work with and manipulate large datasets in Excel
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Public accounting experience preferred
Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce is a plus
CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation preferred
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Compensation
The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full‑time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Base:
$90,000 – $110,000 per year
Bonus:
15% Target Bonus
Total Compensation (Base + Bonus):
The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $99,000 – $132,000
Equity:
This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants
