Electric Transmission & Distribution ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The team is responsible for maintaining PG&E’s 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of transmission lines, ensuring the grid’s reliability and resiliency through ongoing maintenance and operations. Coworkers use lean methodology and visual management to identify and solve problems and create standard work. The division comprises approximately 6,500 coworkers. PG&E’s Electric M&C’s Division is dedicated to safety, quality, and efficient construction of electric facilities.

Position Summary
This employee acts as an M & C Coordinator under an IBEW Local 1245 classification. The role ensures work packages and preparation are completed in advance so field work can proceed on schedule. The coordinator updates the scheduler and supervisor on progress, maintaining regular communication with work and resource planners, engineering, project management, first‑line supervision, customers and contractors. The position requires proficiency in PG&E applications including SAP Work Management, EDGIS Web viewer, Microsoft Office, DMS, SMW, Google Earth and Outlook. The coordinator also coordinates customer shutdowns with the Distribution Outage Coordinator, prepares clearance requests, attends scheduling and electric compliance meetings, and assists with Help Ticket completion. A valid Class C California driver’s license is required. PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company believes it might pay for this position at the time of the posting. This role is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage is $73.78 per hour.

Roles and Responsibilities (not exclusive)

Coordinate scheduled maintenance and construction work for division electric crews

Request job packages from the Central Job File as they appear on the 5‑week Click Schedule

Review CCD work packages to confirm they are truly CCD and decide which require coordination

Complete Job Site Readiness Checklists to ensure coordination is complete and documented

Review electric work for permit requirements and update SAP accordingly

Demonstrate proficiency in SAP functions such as ZORDER, Task Management, Materials Components, User Status Updates, and export data to Excel

Communicate with contractors on the job site and follow the Client Communications document

Manage materials needs and develop solutions for backorders with Remote Material Leads and warehouse personnel

Initiate contract services in SAP (Helicopter, Patch Paving, Traffic Control, Crane Truck, etc.)

Act as liaison between Job Owner, Customer, WRM, Distribution Outage Coordinator, Distribution Operator and Engineering

Maintain USA Notification accountability for all excavation

Place No‑Parking signs in advance of crew work

Apply local government work knowledge in franchise

Prepare and submit clearance / non‑test requests to Distribution Operations, ensuring timely and accurate requests

Ensure job packages are complete when handed over to Frontline Supervisor, including Task Completions in SAP (PC02)

Provide digital pictures or sketches for clarity in packages

Work with the Distribution Outage Coordinator to meet customer notification time guidelines

Facilitate communication between Centralized Scheduling and Construction regarding committed vs. non‑committed work

Identify need for Veg Management and resolve as appropriate

Coordinate G‑for‑E work with other departments

Provide complete job information or alternative options for prudent outage timing decisions

Qualifications
Minimum:

Ability to fulfill all requirements per negotiated LA 10‑15 within six months of hire

CA Class C license, or equivalent

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Ability to perform duties in a physical environment

Knowledge of electric construction skills

Knowledge of overhead and underground electrical engineering theories, concepts and best practices

Competency in planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals

Knowledge of hazard evaluation theories and best practices

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

Knowledge of federal, state and local permitting requirements

Ability to develop reports, models and simulations as needed

Ability to apply electrical engineering theories and methods

Knowledge of electric utility operations and business processes

Ability to abide by safety guidelines and precautions

Knowledge of incident management theories and best practices

Desired:

CA CDL Class A permit, or equivalent

Two or more years as a journey‑level lineworker

SAP experience

Bachelor of Science in business, engineering or construction disciplines

Project Management experience

Experience reviewing, prioritizing and leading work execution on schedule

Experience with construction/maintenance work methods, tools and equipment and switching procedures/programs

Experience with GO 95 and 128
