Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a motivated

Swiss Manufacturing Tech

to join our engineering team. The Swiss Manufacturing Tech provides daily floor support for Swiss machining operations through equipment setup, coordination and execution of preventive maintenance, and collaboration with engineering to support process improvements.

Shift
Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am

Pay
Pay range: $33.00–$46.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

Essential Duties

Interpret all G & M codes for a Citizen and a Star machine and perform manual programming.

Lead advanced setups and program prove‑outs. Assist in process development with engineers, process technicians and supervisors.

Support the creation of training documents. Willing and able to train on production jobs as needed.

Communicate effectively up and down with the extended team and clearly articulate the subject matter.

Coach and mentor all hourly personnel on best practices for machining and operating in a production atmosphere to ensure employees across all shifts meet the same standards.

Troubleshoot complex machining job problems without supervision. Conduct root cause analysis for machining or quality issues.

Have an intermediate understanding of the electronic systems used in Swiss machining operations. Use these systems to support daily production activities, maintain accurate records, and help ensure smooth workflow between production and process support.

Learn and comprehend new machine technologies and types to train others to align with new projects.

Ensure preventive maintenance duties are completed for equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area. Support machine and process improvements.

Qualifications

Ability to effectively and efficiently balance competing priorities with strong attention to detail.

4+ years of experience, preferably in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment.

Able to use a computer, calculator, read and write in English, and do shop math.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

Verify all products meet quality specifications visually using a microscope and dimensionally according to specifications or other Quality System requirements. This includes the use of vision systems, CMMs, and hand tools. Demonstrate the ability to read and understand QC calculations/ SPC and use the data to perform offsets, tool changes and maintain dimensional integrity.

High School Diploma/GED.

Certificate – Machine Trades or equivalent work experience.

Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.

Physical & Mental Demands

Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, turning, seeing, hearing.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment
This is a non‑smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. The position may require moving throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors customary in an injection molding/precision machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required
When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed‑toed, slip‑resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
