
Construction Equipment Operator

Duties Description
Critical maintenance and rehabilitation work on infrastructure and facilities, including campgrounds, boat launch facilities, offices, flood control facilities, recreational facilities, road systems, vehicles, foot trails, utilities, bridges and dams. These activities are essential to ensuring the protection of public health and safety. It is necessary that the selected candidate has a working knowledge of construction best practices and techniques along with experience operating dump trucks, tractor‑trailers, bulldozers, excavators, front‑end loaders as well as small equipment including chainsaws, power tampers, etc.
Qualifications
One year of experience in the operation of equipment and possession of a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle operated.
Additional Comments
This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Key Requirements
Valid driver’s license or ability to meet transportation needs.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator.
Negotiating difficult terrain.
Working in remote areas.
Working in adverse weather conditions.
Obtaining a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction.
Lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
