Work Condition and Schedule

This position is based at the Birmingham‑Shuttlesworth International Airport (KBHM)

Work environment includes exposure to industrial noise, chemicals (fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid), machinery, and active aircraft.

Monday through Friday

Second Shift hours: 4:00 pm to 1:00 am

Flexibility in schedule – overtime may be requested

Job Responsibilities

Conduct aircraft maintenance on company‑owned aircraft: servicing, repairing, maintaining and inspecting airframe, engines and propellers to ensure airworthiness in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) guidelines, Federal Aviation Regulations and company GOM/GMM.

Comply with applicable regulatory bodies, including but not limited to FAA, OSHA, EPA, EHS, airport authority, and comply with all necessary paperwork mandated by regulation.

Repair safety‑of‑flight and Aircraft‑On‑Ground (AOG) issues at the time of discovery.

Coordinate with Flight Operations when the flight schedule may be affected by aircraft mechanical issues.

Participate in maintenance training on the job or at training provider as required.

May be required to travel domestically from time to time, up to 5 %, when needed to support other bases (OSU, BUY, TPA) for aircraft repair (i.e., repair and recovery of aircraft having AOG events). Overnight stay may be required.

Perform line‑service duties such as aircraft marshaling, parking, staging, towing and fueling.

Conduct daily pre‑flight and post‑flight inspections.

Perform other various work duties such as hangar, facilities and aircraft cleaning.

Maintain company Ground Service Equipment (GSE).

Maintain the company fuel farm (receiving fuel, testing fuel, coordinating repairs, etc.).

Assist pilots and other team members as needed to maintain efficient operations.

Complete all assigned tasks with minimal supervision and direction.

Support and participate in the company Safety Management System (IS‑BAO Stage 3 accredited).

Lifting up to 70 pounds as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.

3 years or more experience in aviation maintenance on turboprop aircraft.

Knowledge and/or experience working on the Pilatus PC‑12 aircraft and the PWC PT6 series engine.

Knowledge and/or experience in QC inspection, heavy maintenance, sheet‑metal repair, avionics troubleshooting, and maintenance training.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of LabCorp flight operations and schedule.

Willingness to obtain and maintain FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).

Prior experience in a Part 121, 135, or 145 operation.

Additional Job Standards

Knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft maintenance.

Knowledge of aircraft parts serviceability.

Basic skills with Microsoft Office and applicable suite of products.

Knowledge of applicable industry‑specific software tools, including Veryon, Flightdocs, and CAMP.

Understanding aircraft systems and the ability to determine aircraft airworthiness.

Ability to effectively communicate with pilots, operations and other maintenance personnel to resolve issues and coordinate repairs.

Attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot issues quickly, accurately and determine effective solutions.

Fine motor skills needed to handle small parts and tools with precision.

Ability to understand technical manuals and maintenance instructions.

Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated with industry changes.
