Job Summary
Sunflower Bank, N.A. seeks a Staff Auditor II for our Houston, TX location. The Staff Auditor II is an individual contributor in the Internal Audit Organization, reporting to an Internal Audit Manager. Responsibilities include developing and executing plans to test key controls, managing complex audit assignments, and ensuring compliance with internal audit standards, regulations, and the bank’s ethical guidelines.
Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with bank personnel to understand processes and controls.
Document interview results narratively or via flowcharts.
Develop and execute complex test plans to obtain reliable evidence for valid conclusions.
Perform work in accordance with industry laws, regulations, and bank policies.
Uphold Fair and Responsible Banking practices, Code of Ethics, and Conduct guidelines.
Participate in the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Economics, or related field, or 7–10 years of banking industry experience.
2–5 years audit experience (bank auditing preferred).
CIA or CPA designation preferred.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem‑solving, and common‑sense skills.
Self‑starter capable of independent work.
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and customer‑focus skills.
Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
Flexibility to work flexible hours and travel to other locations regularly.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
Working Conditions
The position requires sitting or standing for extended periods, operating computers and equipment, and occasional walking, bending, kneeling, or lifting up to 10 lbs. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
