Banking Support Specialist (Universal Banker)

The Banking Support Specialist provides comprehensive client servicing support across a broad range of banking functions, exercising judgment, product knowledge, and collaboration to meet client needs. This role supports and covers office functions, assists with more complex servicing requests, and engages in needs‑based client conversations to identify appropriate solutions or referrals. Banking Support Specialists serve as a key resource within the office, supporting Banking Representatives and contributing to operational consistency, service quality, and client satisfaction.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional client service through professional, needs‑based interactions.

Perform complex servicing transactions including account maintenance, problem resolution, and documentation support.

Conduct client conversations to identify needs and provide appropriate solutions or referrals to business partners.

Support and provide guidance to Banking Representatives during daily operations.

Maintain a strong working knowledge of banking products, services, systems, and procedures.

Accurately perform routine banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, and basic account servicing.

Balance individual cash drawer daily and adhere to all cash‑handling and dual‑control procedures.

Verify client identity and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

Exercise sound judgment in resolving routine client issues and determining appropriate escalation.

Support compliance, risk management, and confidentiality standards.

Obtain and maintain required registrations and licenses (e.g., Notary, NMLS) as applicable.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum one year experience as a teller or similar client‑facing banking role.

Demonstrated accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.

Working knowledge of banking products and systems.

Ability to independently resolve routine client issues using judgment and established guidelines.

Eligibility and willingness to obtain required registrations/licenses.

High school diploma/GED
