About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Accountant to support a public‑company finance team during an active reporting and close cycle. This role will focus on core accounting execution, consolidation support, intercompany activity, and compliance‑driven documentation within a highly data‑intensive environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable stepping into complexity quickly, operating with minimal oversight, and maintaining strong control discipline while meeting aggressive close timelines. This opportunity is well suited for seasoned interim professionals or consultants with prior public company exposure.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Supporting monthly close activities in a public‑company setting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely execution
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations with documentation suitable for SOX and audit review
Recording and supporting journal entries related to consolidations, eliminations, and intercompany activity
Working actively within Microsoft Dynamics to support day‑to‑day accounting, reporting, and reconciliations
Assisting with consolidation support schedules and cross‑entity reconciliation efforts
Maintaining organized workpapers and responding to audit and internal control documentation requests
Operating effectively in a high‑volume, data‑heavy environment with multiple systems and reporting outputs
Leveraging technology and AI‑enabled tools to improve efficiency across reconciliations, reporting, and compliance workflows
Required Background & Experience
Prior public company accounting experience is required
Demonstrated exposure to SOX environments, including controls execution and audit support
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics; strong system proficiency is strongly preferred
Experience supporting consolidations and intercompany accounting
Comfort working with large datasets and system‑driven financial information
Tech‑forward mindset, including practical use of AI tools to streamline accounting and reporting tasks
Ability to operate independently and effectively in a fast‑paced close environment
Preferred Experience
Prior consulting, interim, or project‑based accounting background
Experience supporting financial services, lending, or investment‑related businesses
Familiarity with investment or fund accounting systems
Additional Notes
Open to senior‑level interim professionals or consultants
CPA not required; depth of public‑company experience is the priority
