The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
In this role, you will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. You will also perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision of a senior technician.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑vehicle in a mobile/field environment.

Execute minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.

Diagnose, adjust, and repair wide range of equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.

Road test vehicles, inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to identify malfunctions.

Manage parts inventory, reconcile equipment on company‑issued service truck.

Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.

Work with and listen to clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.

Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage own daily schedule.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.

Document work on Repair Orders using company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.

Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation on time.

Communicate with management and support team via e‑mail or phone for repair estimates and purchase order approvals.

Execute all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternative: higher degree or 5 years’ experience).

Possess and supply hand tools necessary for job duties.

Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.

Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.

Valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining or a DOT physical otherwise.

Minimum age 21, safe driver with valid state driver’s license, and ability to obtain a Driver Qualification File.

Compensation
Hourly pay ranging from $26.73 to $40.10 per hour, depending on location, experience, and skills. Eligible for additional compensation such as commission or incentive programs.
