Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems, lighting, and related devices in an industrial environment.
Connect power supply wiring and conduit for machinery and building equipment.
Diagnose malfunctions in transformers, motors, MCC panels, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures; replace damaged components.
Maintain electrical systems within data centers, ensuring reliable power for sensitive equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical utilities and equipment, adhering to safety standards and electrical codes.
Plan and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus, following blueprints and specifications.
Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies; organize and manage shop areas efficiently.
Keep accurate documentation related to work performed, inspections, and maintenance records.
Stay current with industry best practices by participating in training and seminars.
Qualifications
Successful completion of an Apprenticeship program with 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent education and training.
Valid Journeyman license.
Proficient with testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and megohm meters; able to interpret data accurately.
Skilled in working with electrical systems including 480/277 VAC, 120/208 VAC, and 120/240 VAC environments.
Experience maintaining data center electrical systems and emergency lighting.
Knowledge of motor controls, logic control systems, low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice/data wiring.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, electrical codes, and safety protocols.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Valid driver’s license required; certification to operate forklifts and aerial lifts preferred.
Excellent communication skills, capable of preparing reports and presenting technical information.
