Job Overview
A Maintenance Supervisor leads and coaches a team of hourly associates to maintain distribution facilities, including conveyor, sortation, and other equipment repairs within a state‑of‑the‑art, high‑technology distribution center. The role also supports the transition to omni‑channel fulfillment processing and reports to the Senior Manager, Maintenance.

Responsibilities

Ensure customer service, quality, and safety standards are met in an efficient and innovative manner; partner with all departments to address issues as needed.

Direct preventative maintenance and repairs on conveyor and material handling equipment, electrical diagnosis and repair, facility maintenance and repair, and general construction.

Monitor execution and reporting of approved preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs for all equipment in the distribution facility, including yard tractor equipment.

Maintain centralized organization of all mechanical and building drawings, equipment inventory, work order history and supplier/contractor contact listings.

Partner with facilities department to assure proper electrical, structural, and mechanical issues are addressed when creating, repairing, or replacing any property related to the distribution facility.

Ensure Maintenance and Operations team partner for best practices across distribution facilities.

File maintenance and centralize organization of all mechanical and building drawings, equipment inventory, work order history, and supplier/contractor contact listings.

Coordinate contractor work on‑site to avoid interruption of facility operations and to remain within the constraints of DC needs and security.

Ensure Maintenance team acts as an active participant in safety program development and committees.

Coach, develop, and train Maintenance team to facilitate performance of maintenance duties; keep the distribution facility clean, safe and operational at all times.

Develop structured training programs for team to gain working knowledge of PLC controls, forklift repairs/maintenance, Dematic put‑to‑light control systems and general electrical work.

Promote and maintain high employee morale and safety, and counsel employees for unacceptable performance/attendance.

Provide training on aerial platform equipment (scissor and boom lifts).

Partner with planning team to develop weekly maintenance PM and PdM tasks and schedules.

Oversee and enforce good record‑keeping practices in MVP Plant in accordance with SOPs.

Measure and analyze key performance indicators to improve established processes and procedures.

Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance.

Work effectively with DC supervisors and managers to develop and maintain a positive employee relations environment.

Provide input in the development of maintenance budget, monitor spending, and report on operating costs within functional areas.

Administer company policies and procedures.

Additional duties as assigned.

Authority

Performance management and hiring of associates.

Dictate destination of workflow and human resources.

Prepare and present associate reviews.

Accident investigation and recommendation for corrective action.

Oversee corrective actions on performance of outside contractors.

Research sources and purchase electrical equipment and parts to support business needs and growth.

Qualifications

2 years of previous Supervisor/Management experience in a warehouse/distribution/retail environment or equivalent; experience with .com and/or omni‑channel retailing.

Minimum 5 or more years of previous maintenance experience.

Strong mechanical trade knowledge and experience.

Strong working knowledge and experience with electrical systems.

Strong knowledge and experience working with communication systems.

Knowledge of lean concepts and methodology.

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience a plus.

Knowledge of forklift and battery repair and maintenance, and preventative maintenance preferred.

Proficient in Google suite, gmail & Internet applications.

Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem‑solving, & planning skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.

Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management and not afraid to be hands on when required.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced and deadline‑oriented environment.

Demonstrates safety awareness through process‑driven risk mitigation.

Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with effective leadership.

Self‑motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

Pay / Benefits Information

Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
