QUOTATIONS SPECIALIST / ESTIMATOR
LFG is growing and is looking for a go-getter to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for custom switchgear and electrical equipment projects. With our engineering expertise, collaboration, and customer partnerships, LFG was created to drive innovation in switchgear manufacturing and design! While working in our fast-paced, team-oriented environment, this person will collaborate with other departments to deliver solutions that keep our company ahead of the industry!
Position Responsibilities
Estimate Development: Review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, material, and labor estimates for switchgear projects
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with the Engineering and Production Teams to ensure designs are practical and align with LFG’s manufacturing capabilities
Quotations & Proposals: Generate professional, competitive proposals that meet customer requirements while supporting profitability and long-term partnerships
Vendor & Supplier Relations: Issue RFQs, secure competitive pricing, negotiate with suppliers, and recommend alternatives when appropriate
Customer Engagement: Work with Sales to strategize on bids, clarify requirements, and support customers through the quoting process
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize designs and reduce costs without sacrificing quality or performance
Tracking & Reporting: Maintain historical cost databases, supplier information, and ensure accurate documentation for all bids and proposals
Follow-Up: Track open quotes, support transition from awarded projects, and provide input on post-project reviews
Here’s What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree preferred (engineering, construction, business, or related field) OR relevant experience in electrical estimating, quotations, or project coordination
2+ years of experience in electrical distribution, switchgear, or manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bid packages
Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with an eye for detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP or estimation software is a plus
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with sales teams, suppliers, and customers
