We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Designer/Drafter with 1 to 5 years of experience to support the structural engineering department in our San Diego office. The successful candidate will assist in creating drawings and project documents from information provided by engineers using various computer‑aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, and others.
Compensation and Benefits
Expected Hourly Rate: $30.00 to $45.00, depending on education and experience.
Paid overtime at 1.5 times hourly rate.
Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
Hybrid work schedule (subject to change).
401(k) with maximum of 5% contribution matching with 9% employee contribution.
Qualifications
Knowledgeable in creating and editing structural Revit models.
Work from detailed engineering sketches to structural models, plans and details.
Possess computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
Education and Experience
1 to 5 years plus experience in drafting and design (experience in structural buildings and framing preferred).
Technical or associate degree in computer‑aided drafting & design (or similar), preferred.
Possess CAD, layout, and BIM skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
Able to work with numerous project teams to help with project completion.
