21‑bed Emergency Department at Pierremont Campus, Shreveport, LA.
Position Details
Role: Emergency Department Technician – Temporary, Day, PRN.
Responsibilities
Assist professional staff with urgent and non‑urgent procedures.
Assist nurses with initial patient assessments.
Support patients and their families.
Transport patients to other hospital areas.
Prepare instruments for sterilization.
Maintain supplies in the department and treatment areas.
Qualifications
Completion of Department of Nursing Orientation.
Successful completion of Emergency Department Tech orientation with ED educator and completion of a skills checklist with ED Tech preceptor.
Completion of EMT or Nurse Aide Course (nursing school, medical school, previous hospital or military experience may substitute). Preferred.
High school education or equivalent.
Willingness to take Department of Transportation drug screening class.
Additional training is available through the Career Institute. A preceptor will provide orientation and guidance on the unit.
