Hybrid Bankruptcy Paralegal
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year. Hybrid role with a modern office.
About the Role
Results‑driven paralegal with extensive experience supporting bankruptcy practices, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings, in high‑volume legal environments. Skilled in preparing petitions, schedules, and Statements of Financial Affairs, managing e‑filings through CM/ECF, and conducting PACER research to track case activity and deadlines. Proven collaboration with attorneys, trustees, and clients to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficient case progression from intake through discharge.
Responsibilities
Drafting and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, amendments, and 341 sheets.
Utilizing legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
Cite checking and bates stamping of legal documents.
Drafting MMM motions and preparing for trial.
Assisting in the preparation of chapter 13 plans and handling court filings for chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases.
Managing and monitoring the bankruptcy timeline to ensure all deadlines are met.
Coordinating with trustees and managing trustee ledgers.
Assisting in the liquidation process as needed.
Managing the attorney's calendar, scheduling meetings, and ensuring all case‑related deadlines are tracked and met.
Filing DMM and providing overall support to the Bankruptcy Attorney.
Qualifications
Paralegal Certification from an accredited institution.
3+ years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal, well versed in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.
Extensive knowledge and experience with drafting pleadings, legal document preparation, and trial preparation.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw.
Excellent skills in cite checking and bates stamping.
Experience in drafting MMM motions and preparing 341 sheets.
Solid understanding of the bankruptcy timeline, liquidation process, and trustee coordination.
Experience with chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases, including plan preparation and court filings.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage calendars and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
