A growing and well-established manufacturing organization in the San Antonio, TX area is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This is a hands‑on role focused on improving equipment performance, driving efficiency, and supporting new product and automation initiatives. What You'll Be Doing
Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems, components, and equipment
Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives across production
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement long-term solutions
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and engineering)
Assist with new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production
Optimize plant layouts, workflows, and equipment utilization
Work with vendors and integrators on equipment upgrades and installations
Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and SOPs
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems and equipment
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, CI, or process improvement methodologies
Exposure to automation, robotics, or production equipment is a plus
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred if you also have these skills but not a requirement
Experience with PLC‑controlled equipment or automated systems
Background in plant layout, tooling, or equipment design
Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean principles
