Our client is seeking an *Interim Accounting Consultant (Reconciliations & Process Assessment)*I
This is a Short-Term Engagement (60-90 days)
Temp pay: $60-80/hr
Location: Onsite in office in North Chesterfield
The Opportunity
Seeking an interim consulting resource to assess and evaluate our general ledger account reconciliation processes. This engagement will focus on understanding the current state of our reconciliation workflows and producing clear, actionable findings on the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of reconciliations.
The goal is to identify patterns, highlight potential risks, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen our financial operations and internal controls.
What You'll Do
--Review balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with internal policies and accounting standards
--Identify discrepancies, variances, and unusual transactions, and partner with the accounting team to support resolution as needed
--Evaluate supporting documentation for sufficiency and audit readiness
--Document findings and provide clear, constructive feedback to improve reconciliation quality and consistency
--Identify trends and risk areas across accounts and processes
--Partner with leadership to scope impacts and support transition of recommended improvements to internal staff
Your Experience & Capabilities
--Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required
--Strong experience in account reconciliation preparation, review, and quality control
--Deep understanding of GAAP and internal controls
--Sharp attention to detail with strong analytical skills and ability to spot inconsistencies
--Clear, concise communicator-able to document findings and present recommendations effectively
--Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
--Ability to operate independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
