
Epic Analyst Senior

Job Summary
Responsible for responding to requests from users for new or modified systems. As a critical liaison between clinical and business operations, this role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Epic applications to improve patient care, streamline workflows, and ensure regulatory compliance. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures for single departmental changes, define system requirements, and determine programming and/or application functional requirements. Recommends and approves technical and procedural designs for new or revised applications, including system specifications and programming guidelines. Creates documentation to describe application changes for program development and corrections. Team members in this position are skilled, effective, and self-sufficient in working within a diverse technology portfolio, and regularly provide guidance and training to less experienced Epic Analysts.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the planning, design, testing, implementation, support and analysis of Epic applications.
Recommends technical and procedural designs for new or revised applications, including system specifications and programming guidelines.
Consults with users to identify current operating procedures for departmental changes, defines system requirements, identifies programming and output needs and develops designs to meet these needs. Also documents program development, logic, coding and corrections.
Takes ownership of resolution for product and/or implementation issues.
Participates in risk assessment and assists in root cause analysis.
Ensures that change management policies and procedures are being applied.
Provides mentorship to less senior team members and is accountable as a role model for customer service excellence.
Provides forward-thinking technical leadership for application systems, and utilizing an understanding of both the current and future states of the technology is able define and articulate pros, cons and recommendations to senior leadership.
Participates in Epic upgrades, build activities, and change control processes.
Actively drives growth and development in area of specialty by attaining and maintaining Epic certifications and/or accreditations. Ensures strict compliance with the system‑wide Competency & Qualification Requirements Policy.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
5 years of relevant experience in a related
Epic Certification held upon hire
Preferred
Master's Degree or equivalent
Clinical work experience
Experience planning, design, testing, implementation, support and analysis of programs and software
Experience working in a systems development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and design
Participant in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation
