The role requires range: the ability to think strategically about editorial products, workflows and newsroom innovation while remaining deeply grounded in the demands of real‑time news.
The successful candidate will be both a high-energy leader and a steady editorial presence. They will be a collaborative diplomat who can operate effectively across teams and departments while connecting the dots across AI, corporate news, economic data and markets. Just as importantly, they will be a practical problem‑solver who can step into complex situations and help the newsroom adapt quickly and effectively.
Responsibilities
Lead editorial strategy and execution for real-time news, including corporate earnings, private companies, economic data and other market‑moving developments.
Play a central role in newsroom AI initiatives, helping guide development, advocacy, rollout and adoption of new tools.
Partner closely with product and engineering teams to develop and refine newsroom tools and editorial offerings.
Support newsroom leaders during major coverage moments, including complex data releases and fast‑moving global news events.
Act as a senior editorial troubleshooter, stepping into coverage or operational challenges as needed.
Identify structural or workflow gaps and help implement practical, scalable solutions.
Serve as a key liaison between editorial leadership and product teams to ensure tools align with newsroom needs and standards.
Champion a team‑oriented culture where editors collaborate across coverage areas.
Contribute directly to coverage when needed, including editing, writing and launching new editorial products such as newsletters.
Advise on staffing, structure and leadership development across teams.
You’ll need to have:
Exceptional editorial judgment, with a proven track record as a senior editor or newsroom leader.
A strong understanding of AI and how to apply it responsibly in a newsroom setting while upholding Bloomberg’s standards.
Deep experience in financial, corporate and economic reporting.
A clear understanding of how breaking news, economics, markets and alternative data serve Bloomberg Terminal clients.
Experience guiding teams through periods of rapid change, high‑pressure coverage or market disruption.
The ability to balance speed, accuracy and judgment under pressure.
Demonstrated strategic leadership experience, including setting priorities and driving execution.
Deft interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across senior leaders and frontline editors.
A global mindset and strong interest in working across regions and teams.

In this full-time position, the Producer will lead our coverage by writing, booking and directing several hours of daily programming. The Producer sets the editorial agenda and vision for Bloomberg's live audio programming. In this role, they will select stories, write scripts, book guests, edit audio, and direct the show. Candidates for this opening should have extensive experience in audio storytelling, strong editorial judgment, commitment to detail and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced setting.
