POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Communications & Operations Summer Intern will support the enablement and enhancement of communication tools, processes, and content for Mirum’s Commercial organization. This intern will play a key role in strengthening how we communicate across our field and headquarters teams — helping create structure, consistency, and scalability as our commercial organization grows.

This is an ideal opportunity for an undergrad or graduate‑level student interested in commercial operations, internal communications, organizational effectiveness, or biotech/pharma commercialization.

This will be an 8-12‑week assignment, 40 hours/week, paid internship

Housing costs will not be reimbursed.

Required to be on‑site in Foster City, CA

Responsibilities And Main Tasks
Commercial Communications Enablement

Develop and standardize communication templates for recurring and ad hoc commercial communications

Manage and enhance the Commercial Communications Calendar to improve visibility and coordination

Design and deploy a quarterly Commercial newsletter

Develop communication plans and templates to support key initiatives and launches

Field & Leadership Communications

Prepare and format slide decks for:

Monthly All‑Field Calls

Leadership updates

Major commercial events (e.g., Mid‑Year Meeting)

Ensure messaging is clear, visually consistent, and aligned with strategic priorities

Tools & Platform Optimization

Enhance and organize SharePoint and/or department site content

Support improvements to commercial learning platforms and resource hubs

Identify opportunities to streamline how information is stored and accessed by the field

Onboarding & Process Mapping

Participate in the Commercial Onboarding workstream

Help map end‑to‑end commercial processes and associated communication plans

Support documentation efforts to enable future scaling of the commercial organization

Minimum Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate program (MBA, MS, MPH, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; comfort with SharePoint or similar collaboration tools preferred

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines

Interest in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare commercialization

Preferred:

Experience in consulting, internal communications, operations, or project management

Experience designing presentations or communication materials for leadership audiences
