
Machine Operator - Punch press

Job Summary
Join our team as a Punch Machine Operator, where you'll play a key role in producing precision engineered copper & brass components. In this role, you'll set up and operate advanced punch/fabrication equipment, create and refine CNC programs, and ensure all parts meet strict quality and tolerance requirements. You'll use your technical skill, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities to support reliable, efficient production. Working closely with Engineering and Production, you'll help drive continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and material utilization. Key Accountabilities
Machine is CNC punch line or turret machine. Programs for parts and/or nests are loaded into the machine electronically.
Setup:
Prepare the machine by loading tools and dies specific to the job requirements.
Operation:
Monitor and operate the machine to punch holes or shapes in copper & aluminum bar, ensuring quality standards are met.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. Basic blueprint reading, first‑off inspections and in-process inspections. Main tools needed are tape measure and calipers.
Maintenance:
Perform routine basic maintenance check on the machine to keep it in good working order, including cleaning and lubricating parts, reporting issues immediately to the supervisor.
Safety:
Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Technical Skills:
Understand machining processes, blueprints and technical drawings.
Attention to Detail:
Spot errors and ensure high‑quality production standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma / GED
1 to 2 years machine operation experience
Ability to read and write, perform basic math skills
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Use of handheld measuring tools like tape measure and calipers.
Safety mindset.
Preferred Requirements
Previous warehouse experience – especially in the metals industry
Previous forklift experience
Computer literate
