
Senior Research and Evaluation Professional

Position Summary
The Senior Research and Evaluation Professional will independently design, implement and supervise qualitative or quantitative research studies, program evaluations, needs assessments, data dashboards including selecting evaluation approaches, developing logic models, developing measures, data and outcomes tracking matrices, preparing insightful reports, manuscripts and other dissemination materials. This individual will supervise and manage graduate and student researchers on the team and work collaboratively with their supervisors. They will collaborate with various other entities across the State to collect input, design, implement, and manage projects. The person in this position will work collaboratively with key stakeholders on grants including a variety of partners, data sources, and datasets.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
PhD or All But Dissertation (ABD) in program evaluation or allied social science fields preferred.
Training and experience in conducting quantitative and/or qualitative research and evaluation studies including data collection, data analysis and dissemination preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge or experience in designing and implementing qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research studies including study design, collecting data and conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis including correlations, crosstabs, content analysis, grounded theory.
Advanced quantitative data analysis knowledge and skills using SPSS or SAS.
Knowledge or experience in designing and developing data dashboards and data analytics using Power BI or Tableau.
Experience in working with large datasets including importing, cleaning and using data for advanced analyses.
Experience in preparing human subjects applications.
Training and experience in designing, implementing and managing program evaluations, needs assessments, applied research projects.
Knowledge and experience in using programs such as Microsoft word, excel, access, Qualtrics, NVivo, Canva, or similar applications.
Ability to work both independently and with a team.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands
Work for long periods on a computer.
Driving may be involved for data collection as needed.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research studies including study design, collecting data and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
Design and implement program evaluations, needs assessments, applied research studies including selecting evaluation approaches, developing measures, data and outcomes tracking matrices, preparing insightful reports, manuscripts and other dissemination materials.
Develop data collection measures (surveys, focus group protocols), collect and analyze data using qualitative or quantitative research analysis methods including working with large databases, data cleaning and analyzing and developing data dashboards.
Coordinate, manage, and collect data from participants using qualitative or quantitative research methods including surveys, focus groups and interviews. This may involve statewide travel for site visits and technical support; driving may be involved for data collection as needed.
Manage timelines and budgets for multiple projects.
Work collaboratively with a variety of clients, and with multiple data sources and datasets.
Design and develop data dashboards and data analytics using Power BI or Tableau.
Work with large datasets including importing, cleaning and using data for advanced analyses.
Conduct advanced quantitative data analysis including regression, correlations, descriptive statistics using SPSS or SAS; and qualitative analysis content analysis, grounded theory.
Prepare Human Subjects proposals; engage in sample recruitment.
Prepare grant proposals or contracts as needed.
Collaborate with various other entities across the State to collect input, design, implement, and manage projects.
Prepare research reports, publish peer reviewed manuscripts in journals, white papers, infographics and other dissemination materials to communicate findings to key stakeholders.
Present research or program evaluation findings at partner meetings and at local, state, and national meetings and conferences to technical and non-technical audiences.
Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans.
Supervise and manage graduate and student researchers on the team and work collaboratively with their supervisors.
Driving may be involved for data collection as needed.
