About the role
To help us realise our goal of being the most powerful neutron source in the world, we are now seeking to hire an Recruitment Officer to play a vital role in attracting and securing top talent across all of our business units.
In this dynamic and varied role, you will be responsible for driving and executing HR processes - such as recruitment projects - ensuring the provision of high-quality service in both operational and administrative recruitment tasks. A key part of your role will be to support and coach hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring a smooth candidate experience.
Beyond recruitment, you will serve as a trusted advisor on immigration and global mobility matters, assisting both employees and managers with relocation and work permit processes. You will act as the main point of contact for external relocation suppliers to ensure that newly hired international employees have a seamless transition to ESS. In addition, you will be responsible for salary proposals for new hires in order to safeguard alignment with internal frameworks and market competitiveness.
You will also work continuously improvement processes within your scope by contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will provide support, knowledge and expertise to the wider HR organisation within recruitment and relocation. You will also be acting as a liaison between ESS and external relocation agencies to facilitate the smooth integration of internationally hired colleagues.
This is a fixed term position due to parental leave until end of April 2027 position based at the ESS Campus in Lund, Sweden.
About you
To thrive in this role, you must be a highly skilled and adaptable HR professional with a strong background in international recruitment, global mobility, and HR operations. You should be confident in managing the entire recruitment process from start to finish - handling everything from job postings and candidate selection to onboarding - whilst ensuring efficiency and compliance with ESS policies.
Our ideal candidate will bring at least three years of experience in a similar role, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification. Your prior experience must include the proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential HR matters with discretion, and you should demonstrate a high level of trust and accountability in all aspects of your work. You need to be comfortable managing multiple competing deadlines, prioritising tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and adapting to shifting departmental needs. Given the international nature of ESS, a deep understanding of immigration, work permits, and relocation processes is essential to ensure a smooth transition for new hires from around the world. Proficiency in HR systems and tools, including ReachMee, Microsoft 365, Jira, and Talmundo are essential for this position.
As a person, you are approachable, supportive, and team-oriented. You communicate clearly, value collaboration, and build strong relationships at all levels. You are someone who proactively develops internal and external networks and can skilfully leverage your connections to attract top talent and enhance employer branding whilst also being service-minded, adaptable, and results-driven. Prior demonstrable experience of the ESS recruitment process is considered meritorious for this role.
The working language of ESS is English but, for this role, the ability to communicate fluently in both written and spoken Swedish is also a requirement.
