Systems Engineer
Intelliforce-IT Solutions Group, LLC., Baltimore, MD, United States
Overview
Make an Impact Where It Matters Most. At Intelliforce, we do not modernize for the sake of modernization. We build environments that help mission teams move faster, collaborate better, and stay ready for what is next. In this role, you will help architect the move from a patchwork legacy environment to a modern cloud-native backbone that supports AI-enabled development, FVEY collaboration, and the next generation of CNO development, all while the mission keeps running.

In this role, you will help architect the move from a patchwork legacy environment to a modern cloud-native backbone that supports AI-enabled development, FVEY collaboration, and the next generation of CNO development, all while the mission keeps running. This is a rare chance to shape the future of a critical development environment from the ground up.
What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out
This role gives you real influence over how cloud adoption happens in a high-consequence mission space. You will define the technical roadmap, build reusable cloud patterns, assess aging infrastructure, and design practical migration paths that improve performance without disrupting operations. The work is strategic and hands-on. You will partner with mission stakeholders, cloud professional services, and technical leadership to solve real problems, from large-scale storage and system integration to unified SSO and better developer workflows.
At Intelliforce, your work is visible and your recommendations carry weight. Because we support prime programs, our teams stay close to meaningful mission work with real momentum. Because we are a small business, leadership is accessible, communication is direct, and strong technical leadership gets noticed. Add in long-term stability, strong benefits, and a people-first culture, and this becomes more than another cloud role. It is a chance to help make CNO one of the best software development environments in the agency.
Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include
Lead cloud architecture strategy and define reusable patterns that help teams adopt cloud solutions where they make sense
Build technical roadmaps and “easy button” templates that speed adoption while preserving mission flexibility
Architect end-to-end solutions for complex CNE services across legacy and cloud-native environments
Assess existing infrastructure, document dependencies, and help prioritize modernization based on mission impact, cost, and risk
Partner with AWS Professional Services and mission stakeholders to scope, validate, and refine cloud solutions
Design modern workflows and user experiences for CNE developers, including solutions for unified SSO and large-scale datasets
Help improve the overall software development environment for mission teams through practical, mission-focused infrastructure decisions
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in place of a Bachelor’s degree
Required Skills
5 or more years of deep systems engineering and cloud architecture experience, with a proven track record of building, breaking, and rebuilding complex enterprise infrastructure
Demonstrated expertise in AWS production environments, including hands-on experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, Route 53, API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, S3, and cloud storage tiers
Prior experience leading infrastructure modernization and technical transformations, especially incremental migrations rather than lift-and-shift approaches
Familiarity with agency-specific cloud compliance nuances, particularly ATO processes and operations within the WANDS environment
Strong background in corporate services and stakeholder management, including the ability to build ROI models and translate technical decisions for executives, security teams, and mission developers
Service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on mission needs
Ability to balance long-term technical vision with rapid, practical wins
Collaborative leadership style that values knowledge sharing and team growth
Desired Skills
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Associate or Professional
Experience in CNO spaces or similar high-side environments
CNO development experience and understanding of developer needs in mission environments
Enclave experience and familiarity with restricted environments, security controls, and architectural constraints
Cost optimization expertise, including right-sizing cloud resources, FinOps practices, and evaluating when cloud implementations truly save money
At least four years of hands-on AWS experience in native cloud environments
Compensation
Compensation Range: $182,000.00 - $233,000.00
