The Position

The Assistant Slot Operations Manager supports the Slot Operations Manager and Director of Slot Operations by assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Slot Department. This role ensures a guest-focused, compliant, and efficient gaming environment by supporting team leadership, operational initiatives, and departmental standards. The Assistant Manager acts as a key partner in delivering service excellence, supporting team development, and maintaining awareness of operational performance.
Responsibilities

Operational Support & Floor Awareness
Maintain knowledge of slot floor plans, machine mix, and utilization trends, and communicate relevant observations to the Manager.
Support adoption of operational changes and initiatives, acting as a role model for the team.
Remain aware of machine performance and floor conditions and escalate issues or trends to the Manager and Slot Technicians as appropriate.
Reinforce operational standards and departmental expectations on the gaming floor.
Serve as the acting operational lead in the Manager’s absence, ensuring continuity of department operations.
Guest Experience & Service Delivery
Support and model the UIDC Guest Service program by reinforcing standards across all shifts and sharing observations or recommendations with the Manager.
Maintain a visible and active presence on the gaming floor to engage with guests and team members.
Assist in addressing escalated guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Team Support & Development
Assist the Slot Operations Manager in leading and mentoring the slot team to achieve performance goals and align with brand vision.
Serve as acting department lead in the Manager’s absence, maintaining operational continuity and guest service standards.
Support multi-shift coverage, including swing shifts and weekends, ensuring consistent team performance.
Assist in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding to build and maintain a high-performing team.
Actively participate in and support UIDC leadership development programs, implementing structured learning opportunities for team growth.
Assist in coaching, mentoring, and development of team members, including the application of progressive corrective action as directed by the Manager.
Reinforce Tribal team development through mentorship, coaching, and training support.
Compliance & Operational Awareness
Maintain awareness of daily operations in compliance with gaming laws, Internal Controls, and the Tribal Gaming Compact.
Support the Manager in identifying compliance risks and escalating issues when necessary.
Reinforce safe operational practices and communicate any observed hazards to the Manager or Director.
Ensure team adherence to Title 31 and other regulatory requirements, supporting ongoing training as directed.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and regulated information.
Financial & Resource Awareness
Support the Manager in operational decision-making that aligns with budgetary and efficiency goals.
Maintain awareness of labor usage, expenses, and resource allocation, making daily operational choices that support departmental objectives.
Additional Duties
Perform all other related duties and projects as assigned by the Slot Operations Manager or Director.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience in slot or casino operations may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in slot operations, with some team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard slot systems, protocols, and operational practices, with the ability to quickly adapt to property-specific processes.
Tribal gaming experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in high-pressure situations involving co-workers, guests, and vendors, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance.
Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be at least 21 years of age with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
