
Customer Service Assistant - Automotive Finishes

The Customer Service Assistant works with the Assistant Branch Manager and Branch Manager to organize, plan, and implement strategies in a Sherwin‑Williams Automotive Branch. This includes supporting all aspects of branch operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, inventory, and store safety. The Assistant will work closely with customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin‑Williams Automotive products, recommend the right solutions, promptly resolve any customer concerns, ensure maximum client satisfaction, stay up to date with product features, and maintain high quality and visual standards of the products and branch. The role requires achieving excellent customer service while consistently meeting the branch's sales goals.
The individual selected for this role will work at Automotive Branch #9303 located at 10236 L Street, Omaha, NE 68127.
Hours:
Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 8 am‑5 pm (subject to change based on business needs).
Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors; and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value. A review of criminal history is part of the hiring process to protect the business and its operations.
Job Duties
Prepare orders for delivery or pickup safely and timely (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
Assist Managers in planning delivery schedules to optimize unit efficiency.
Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations.
Process sales transactions accurately and consistently with policies and procedures.
Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ensure that the stockroom is organized.
Assist with tracking inventory levels and comply with inventory control procedures.
Assist with the Physical Inventory Process conducted semi‑annually.
Assist with Account Management projects for existing customers on‑site and in the branch.
Assist in promoting sales specials and initiatives.
Keyholder responsibilities include completing Branch Open and End‑of‑Day procedures and making nightly bank deposit.
Complete Monthly and Quarterly Safety Training.
Verify customer orders and transactions are completed and documented accurately.
Assist in analyzing management and financial reports, including financial ratios relative to Profit & Loss (P&L).
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in customer service, retail, or sales.
Preferred Qualifications
Have at least one (1) year of work experience in a Sherwin‑Williams Automotive Branch.
Have at least three (3) years of work experience in customer service, retail, or sales.
Have at least one (1) year of experience using material‑handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacuum‑hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts).
Have at least a high school diploma or GED.
