Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides support on utilizing the arena’s complex electronic, computer-based, optical and mechanical broadcasting systems; ensures regular maintenance and repairs to all broadcast and video production equipment in emergency and preventative situations.
Collaborates with technicians on various broadcasting equipment such as recording, video and editing equipment; checks equipment for operational readiness and provides operational assistance/instruction to others as needed.
Ensures the integrity of various technical records and engineering logs pertaining to broadcast equipment performance and discrepancies, according to regulations.
Engages in all aspects of video post production, including audio mixing, technical direction, C.G. operation, computer editing, videotape operation and editing.
Coordinates the set‑up of, maintains, and assists remote production and satellite trucks for internal departments and external vendors
etworks.
Provides general testing and integration of new equipment prior to installation in Barclays Center.
Pioneers the set up and transmission of outside broadcast and point‑to‑point microwave links visiting Barclays Center.
Candidate Profile
Minimum education level: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Engineering, Technology, or Broadcast Communications.
Minimum 3–5+ years of related work experience in live broadcast environments, functioning as a television system problem‑solver and troubleshooter.
Should hold a B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science or have demonstrable equivalent experience.
Strong experience with broadcast and technology systems design and integration.
Ability to provide technical guidance and training to operations, maintenance, and production personnel.
Experience administering complex network architectures and storage systems.
Experience in budget forecasting, personnel scheduling, and project planning.
Knowledge of broadcast rules and regulations.
Knowledge of maintenance, usage, and design of technical broadcast equipment.
Key Competencies
Experience in broadcast and technology systems engineering.
Skilled in the use of project tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; well‑versed in Windows and Apple operating systems.
Skilled in responding to operational/technical equipment problems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skilled in repair of digital and analog broadcast audio and video cabling and equipment.
