Position Overview
Senior Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – Project Manager (Senior and Mid-Level). Salary: $115K-140K (Senior) / $90K-115K (Mid-Level). Location: High Point, NC 27265.
Hours: Mon–Thu 7:30am–5:30pm, Fri 7:30am–11:30am.
Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
Candidates without an active license will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Department Support
Support the Survey Director in executing departmental goals, strategies, and business plans.
Assist with business development, marketing efforts, and client relationship building (including occasional after‑hours events).
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, employee development, and issue resolution.
Promote ethics, teamwork, safety, and core values.
Project & Technical Oversight
Oversee multiple land development surveying projects simultaneously.
Analyze field data and research to prepare and review:
Boundary surveys
ALTA/NSPS and loan surveys
Construction layout
Topographic surveys
As‑built surveys and final plats
Interpret engineering drawings and coordinate horizontal and vertical survey control.
Ensure technical accuracy, quality control, and compliance with standards of practice.
Operations & Financial Management
Schedule and manage multiple survey crews to maximize utilization and efficiency.
Supervise survey office staff supporting project delivery.
Assist with project scoping, budgets, and schedules.
Monitor financial performance, billing accuracy, and timesheets across projects.
Coordinate equipment, vehicles, and operational needs as required.
Required Qualifications
Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible land surveying experience, including:
Boundary
ALTA/NSPS
Construction layout
Topographic surveying
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson in a surveying environment.
Experience with Topcon and/or Leica survey equipment and data collectors.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
Experience managing multiple crews and mentoring staff.
Familiarity with Ajera or similar project/financial management systems.
Work Environment & Schedule
Office-based position.
Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–5:30pm; Friday: 7:30am–11:30am.
