is seeking a

Senior Bridge Engineer and Task Leader

in

Salt Lake City, UT .

As a Sr. Bridge Engineer, you will provide technical excellence, leadership, and project management across a wide range of structural engineering efforts—from new design and construction engineering to preservation, rehabilitation, and load rating. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate directly with clients to solve challenging infrastructure problems.

What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of

bridge design deliverables , including concept reports, structure selection reports, design calculations, construction documents, cost estimates, and schedules.

Manage and execute

bridge planning, design, construction engineering, and rehabilitation

projects.

Oversee and perform structural analyses and develop or check design calculations in accordance with

AASHTO LRFD

and other applicable codes.

Provide

technical quality control , checking engineering deliverables for accuracy, code compliance, and design excellence.

Deliver

bridge load rating analyses

and retrofit recommendations.

Mentor and guide junior engineers; foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.

Actively participate in

client relations , helping translate client needs into project deliverables and technical solutions.

Support business development activities including proposal writing, pursuit strategy, and client presentations.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

12+ years

of experience in bridge and structural engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

in Utah (or ability to obtain within one year)

Proficiency with bridge design and analysis software such as

SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, LEAP Concrete, LPile, BRASS, CSiBridge, OpenRoads Designer, spColumn

Proficiency with Bluebeam and MathCAD software

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word

Experience with

AASHTO LRFD

and DOT design standards

Experience leading a bridge/structural engineering team

Mentoring less experienced engineers

Proficient in communicating and working in a team-based environment that involves coordination with multiple design disciplines and offices

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

Experience with

Utah Department of Transportation

structure design practices

Potential salary range:

$135,000 - $180,000

The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
