Overview
Maintenance Supervisor of Evening Services assists with the overall management of custodial and building services division for Mount Carmel, North Haven, and York Hill campuses, including setups, athletic venues, trash removal, cleaning of flooring, equipment maintenance and repair, and other tasks as assigned by the Senior Superintendent of Evening Services.
Responsibilities
Plan, supervise and direct general maintenance/repair, cleaning, grounds, and mechanical services for the campuses, addressing timely response to work requests.
Manage staff of custodians, groundskeepers, licensed mechanic, mechanics, and other employees as assigned and external contractors.
Assist with general maintenance and repairs related to custodial, grounds and building services work on the campuses.
Assist with physical set up of University events on campuses and ancillary properties including athletic venues, institutional events, and daily meetings/conferences.
Provide strong sense of community with excellent customer service and relationships while maintaining buildings to promote student success.
Assist with assessment, development, communication, documentation, and implementation of daily and long-term custodial/grounds/building services work plan, including seasonal operations, summer turnover, and minor renovations/capital improvements.
Assist with procurement and inventory of all custodial and grounds services materials and equipment.
Work toward reduction of hazardous custodial and grounds chemicals, aiming for more environmentally friendly campus.
Perform essential personnel duties with off‑shift responsibilities as weather events require.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Qualifications
2+ years supervisory experience required.
Experience with custodial equipment and knowledge of floor maintenance techniques and processes.
Experience with grounds equipment, snow equipment, and knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
Good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Proven managerial, fiscal, and organizational ability required; managerial experience in a union environment is preferred.
Competency with Windows based platform; working knowledge of work request systems and project management systems.
