
Field Service Technician/Driver

Overview
Working as Full-time Field Service Technician/Driver, you will work in our regional FMI (Fastenal Managed Inventory) Technology Service Centers and customer facilities, performing installation, service, repair and removal activities associated with our industrial vending, bin systems and other FMI technology devices. You will use a company delivery vehicle to travel throughout the region performing duties. You will provide world class customer service, support and quality to the Fastenal Team and our customers.
Responsibilities
Traveling to various Fastenal locations and customer facilities to install and service FMI technology devices
Assembling, cleaning, reconditioning and testing devices using work instructions
Testing and repairing mechanical and electrical components of the devices
Training customers on the use of devices and software
Completing checklists to ensure all process steps are followed
Communicating with the department manager and Fastenal team members
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Complying with safety regulations
Required Position Qualifications
Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
Willingness to travel with overnights required
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh up to 70lbs.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
Pass a background check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

Possess driving experience
