TACO Metals is seeking a Staff Accountant to play a key role in supporting our financial operations, driving accuracy, insight, and continuous improvement across the business.
Sparta, TN | Full-time | Exempt
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Controller and gain valuable exposure to multiple areas of the organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare and record journal entries for general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Maintain and update financial records and supporting documentation
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
Support accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes as needed
Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies
Assist in resolving accounting system issues and operational discrepancies
Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial analysis
Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement
Maintain accurate financial data within the company’s ERP system
Utilize Excel and reporting tools to support financial analysis and operational reporting
Identify and recommend opportunities to improve accounting processes
Compliance & Audit
Maintain documentation supporting accounting transactions and internal controls
Assist with internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
2–5 years of accounting experience required
Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial experience preferred
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar preferred
Financial analysis expertise
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Work Environment
Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged sitting, with occasional standing and walking
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally (with assistance)
Frequent communication with others via in-person, phone, and written methods
Ability to read, analyze data, and work on a computer for extended periods
Ability to effectively communicate and understand spoken information
