Responsibilities

Serves as the INSCOM Command Psychologist, Director of the Clinical and Organizational Behavioral Health providers, and performs clinical psychologist duties.

Acts as consultant to the INSCOM Command Surgeon on psychological health matters and serves as the subject matter expert for psychological health support issues across the INSCOM enterprise.

Provides psychological training, lectures, mentoring and support to INSCOM and 15 globally dispersed Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) on clinical, personnel and management matters related to overall wellness.

Develops, writes, and implements global Behavioral Health policies. Stakeholder on programs involving prevention and treatment of psychological problems that affect training, Soldier readiness, and Soldier health promotion.

Consults on program development and evaluation methodology for INSCOM behavioral health programming and coordinates with installation and regional behavioral health and health promotion assets.

Communicates through executive summaries, information papers, memorandums, and briefings.

Requirements

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.

Must pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use before appointment and periodically thereafter.

Must obtain and maintain Top‑Secret security clearance (T5 or equivalent) with eligibility for SCI.

Two‑year trial/probationary period may be required.

Extended TDY or worldwide deployments may be required during crisis situations.

TDY travel may be required up to 20% of time.

Must meet credentialing and certification requirements for the series and meet degree and licensure requirements for privileging at the independent practitioner level (AR 40‑68).

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS‑13 grade level in the Federal service preparing you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience includes (but is not limited to) consulting, subject matter expert work, psychological training, policy development, program evaluation, and clinical psychologist duties.

Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices in psychology gained through higher graduate study and/or experience.

Knowledge of psychological assessment, industrial/organizational psychology, behavioral health, behavioral research, organizational effectiveness, operational psychology, performance enhancement, and training.

Expert knowledge of interviewing techniques and assessment methods.

Ability to prepare detailed written reports with briefing charts, diagrams, and illustrations; present findings and recommendations in oral presentations.

Knowledge of and skill in developing training programs and providing instruction.

Experience in Behavioral Health Program/Policy Management, Advanced Psychological Principles and Practices, and Senior‑Level Communication.
