Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Acute Care NP or PA in Inpatient Medicine in Manhattan.
Responsibilities
Provide, coordinate, and assure comprehensive nursing care using nursing process and relevant standards of care.
Diagnose illness and physical conditions and perform therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures for the designated inpatient or outpatient population within a collaborative practice agreement with a specific physician.
Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs and ensure appropriate clinical resource utilization per protocols and pathways.
Monitor cost effectiveness and performance indicators for the service.
Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable.
Collaborate with nursing and other disciplines in developing and implementing clinical studies within the area of expertise.
Use evidence-based literature to advise and support practice changes.
Participate in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established protocols for quality and performance improvement.
Serve as a clinical expert and resource for education of peers and other health professionals.
Maintain current expertise and promote professional growth in clinical and managerial roles.
Consider the needs and behaviors of patients across age and cultural groups in all care.
Evaluate treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modify per clinical standards and protocols.
Practice as a member of the allied health staff according to Medical Staff rules and bylaws.
Prescribe medical equipment, devices, therapy, and home health services per protocol; prescribe in-patient and discharge medications per New York State law, including DEA-controlled substances where authorized.
Collaborate with attending and consulting physicians and other disciplines to develop and implement an appropriate plan of care that aligns with patient/family preferences and improves outcomes.
Formulate care plans with the attending physician, patient, and family based on goals and length of stay.
Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies per protocols and manage abnormal findings; refer to consulting physicians as needed.
Perform complete health history, physical examination, and psychosocial assessment within the designated practice or unit.
Work collaboratively with the health care team and participate in professional standards and regulations as applicable.
Contribute to the development and revision of interdisciplinary and nursing standards and patient/family education materials.
Facilitate continuity of care across the continuum of services.
Provide consultation about therapeutic regimens to nursing staff and coordinate with leadership for timely communication.
Communicate with families, housestaff, and other disciplines to maintain appropriate information flow.
Participate in development of care standards and patient education materials relevant to the area of practice.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and implement a therapeutic plan of care for groups of patients and ensure family communication.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify you must have:
Licensure: Current licensure as a Professional Nurse in New York and Nurse Practitioner in New York.
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Certification: ANCC certification or board certification from another recognized organization for Nurse Practitioners.
Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
Required Licenses
Registered Nurse License-NYS, Nurse Practitioner-NYS, Basic Life Support Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Life Support certifications (ACLS, PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) as applicable. At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the patient population served; ability to apply nursing process to achieve outcomes; experience as a nurse practitioner preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, leadership, and teamwork skills. Physical stamina and dexterity as required. Membership in professional specialty organizations desirable.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary Transparency
Salary range for the role: $151,530.94 – $182,030.94 annually. Actual salary depends on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
