Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

We are seeking a highly‑skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in the Coronary Care ICU (CCU). In this role you will provide direct nursing care to our most critically ill intensive care cardiac and medical patients. What you will do in this role

Provide therapeutic care of seriously and critically ill patients for a variety of heart diseases and conditions, including resuscitation.

Provide hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, ventilator management, and other evolving techniques as they are developed.

Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, cardiac specialists and patient care staff, administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the facility.

Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions during every shift utilizing our computerized documentation systems.

Maintain cultural and diversity awareness, and much more, when dealing with patients, visitors, co‑workers and other customers.

Qualifications you will need

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).

Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.

1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.

1 year of critical care (ICU) nursing experience preferred.

Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
