Job Overview
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health Emergency Screening Department at the New Brunswick campus. Nurses in this department provide extraordinary care to adult patients with mental health diagnoses.
Qualifications
ASN or Nursing Diploma
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
At least 1 year of RN experience required
BSN (or must be completed within 5 years upon hire) preferred
ER or Behavioral Health or Psychiatric experience highly preferred
Certifications and Licenses
BLS and ACLS certification
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Scheduling Requirements
Day Shift, 24 hours per week, 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Monday – Friday, some weekend and holiday rotation
Part‑Time
Essential Functions
Provide nursing care within scope of practice and regulatory standards.
Ensure safety and uphold evidence‑based practice principles.
Report safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
Maintain knowledge of the patient population served.
Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other care providers.
Set and evaluate priorities through interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, integrating all aspects of care and individualizing plans.
