Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and assists in providing rehabilitative services for patients with physical, emotional, mental, or developmental impairments.
Assist patients with rehabilitative activities and exercises outlined in a treatment plan developed in collaboration with an occupational therapist.
Assess the learning needs and capabilities of patients and caregivers with regards to age, level of understanding, and emotional status.
Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient progress.
Effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals.
Qualifications
Must have earned a two‑year associate degree from an accredited institution or a certificate from a community, technical, or vocational college.
Current state license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or COTA, or be in the process of obtaining licensure.
Current CPR certification.
