Description
Under general supervision of a Registered Nurse in the assigned department, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. Tasks include prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparing and assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education, venipuncture, and IV access.
At the senior level, the LVN assists with training and validating competencies of Vocational Nurses and per diem Vocational Nurses, and provides patient education and staff training. Senior LVNs are assigned more complex tasks and may serve as a resource for peers.

This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California.

BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.

Recent experience in a similar role and setting; a minimum of two (2) years of relevant LVN experience is required for consideration at the senior LVN level.

Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.

Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, exercise independent judgment, and work in a team environment.

Demonstrated compassion and empathy toward patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

Dermatology experience.

Experience with surgical wound site care.

Phlebotomy certified.

ACLS and/or ART.

Knowledge of PCIS, IDX, and EPIC computer systems.

Bilingual: English/Spanish.

General knowledge of pharmaceuticals and ability to process PARs.

Proven ability to serve as a resource and effectively lead and mentor teams.

Possession of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 - $93,229 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $35.91 - $44.65.

Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands‑on practice and in‑person skills assessment; online‑only certification is not acceptable.
