
Registered Nurse Lead Outpatient Full Time

Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy intern. The successful candidate will act as an assistant to a licensed pharmacist under direct supervision, filling medication cassettes, automated dispensing machines, compounding sterile and non‑sterile products, performing shelf checks, and organizing the pharmacy. The intern may also assist in quality assurance/performance improvement projects and patient‑specific data collection.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency with unit dose drug distribution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal laws related to the handling of controlled substances.
Complete annual competency assessments.
Answer telephone with courtesy and promptness.
Demonstrate proficiency with automated dispensing machines.
Demonstrate proficiency in patient‑specific data collection and review of medical records.
Assist pharmacists with nursing station reviews, QA/PI projects when needed.
Assist with security.
Demonstrate proficiency with medication procurement, stocking, and deliveries.
Demonstrate proficiency with hospital information system.
Demonstrate proficiency in extemporaneous compounding of non‑sterile products including capsules, ointments, oral/topical solutions, and other kits.
Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique IV room procedures and USP standard.
Demonstrate proficiency when repacking needed doses.
Minimum Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills.
Enrollment or graduation from an ACPE‑accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent pharmacy intern permit.
Required Licenses
Pharmacy Intern Permit - NYS.
Preferred Qualifications
None.
