Overview

Help transform youth mental healthcare. Daybreak Health partners with 100+ school districts and Kaiser Permanente to deliver teletherapy to students ages 11‑24 across California. We hire licensed California therapists (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT) who want a stable caseload, consistent referrals, and the chance to make a real impact on student wellbeing. Choose between W‑2 (full benefits) or 1099 (flexible contract). The role is 100% remote.
Applicants do not have to be based in California, but you must be a licensed California therapist. Associate therapists are not eligible for this position.
Key Benefits

Competitive Compensation:

W‑2: $55,000–$115,000 annual (bi‑weekly standardized payment)
1099: $70–$85 per session (plus no‑show & late‑cancel pay)

Flexible Schedule: Set your hours Monday–Friday (3‑8 PM) with optional weekends (9 AM‑5 PM)
W‑2 Caseload Commitment: W‑2 clinicians carry a caseload of 25 weekly slots (Monday‑Friday 3 PM‑8 PM PST) with a target of 17 completed sessions per week averaged across the month. Daybreak provides consistent referrals and scheduling assistance to help you reach this target consistently.
Full Benefits (W‑2):

Daybreak covers around 90% of medical premiums, and 100% of dental and vision premiums for W‑2 employees
Daybreak covers around 65% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for all eligible dependents

Contract Perks (1099): low weekly caseload minimum (5 sessions), CEUs, bilingual pay, cross‑license bonuses in states we are active in

Qualifications

Licensed Professional with LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT credentials in the State of California
Experience diagnosing, treatment planning, and working with youth and families in clinical or school settings
Strong telehealth skills and reliable high‑speed Internet connection
Commitment to culturally responsive care and equity
Role & Responsibilities

Provide evidence‑based individual teletherapy to students ages 11–24 with mild‑to‑moderate mental health conditions
Build trusted relationships with youth and families
Provide psychoeducation to parents/caregivers
Minimum caseload: varies by employment type. W‑2 full‑time requires at least 25 time slots with a minimum of 17 completed sessions per week. 1099 contractors have a minimum of 5 sessions per week.
Employment Type: choose between W‑2 with full benefits or 1099 Independent Contractor.
