Job Summary
Knowledge of hospital administration, nursing services, and customer relations, and serves to facilitate communication among customer groups. Initiates conflict resolution and refers issues to the appropriate manager or director; maintains a high degree of visibility within the nursing units and serves as a resource and role model for the nursing staff.
Responsibilities
Accurately take medical histories, collect and record vital signs, weight, height, and other assigned tasks.
Proactively work toward and achieve goals set in the previous evaluation period.
Coordinate activities within the nursing and ancillary departments to achieve hospital goals and objectives.
Follow established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Ensure a safe environment by maintaining communication with the Administrator on call and others as necessary.
Review work schedules, assign personnel appropriate to patient‑care needs in conjunction with the appropriate unit manager or director, evaluate work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.
Maintain high visibility by making supervisory and environmental rounds on the assigned shift(s) to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Prepare written documentation as required by the department.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay abreast of latest trends in the field of expertise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing for the Registered Nurse, diploma/associate degree or higher.
Registered Nurse licensure.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
1–2 years of previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
