Water Planner/Management Analyst

HDR is seeking a Water Planner/Management Analyst for its North Carolina/South Carolina Management Consulting Business Class within the Water Business Group. This early‑career role welcomes candidates with 2–5 years of experience to support water, wastewater, and stormwater organizations through data‑driven analysis and consulting services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support project managers and senior consultants in delivering water management consulting services for water, wastewater, and stormwater organizations.
  • Perform detailed data analysis across a variety of water planning projects, including GIS‑based spatial analyses (ArcGIS Pro), Microsoft Excel‑based analyses, and the use of other tools.
  • Analyze large datasets from clients and the industry to identify trends and insights.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, maps, and exhibits for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Contribute to integrated planning and master planning best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, Data Science, or related field.
  • 2‑5+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater consulting/operations or related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non‑technical.
  • Professionalism and excellent interpersonal and relationship skills when working with team members and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities and workflows on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Active engagement in professional and industry organizations.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite of programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
