BrightStar Care is looking for PRN Infusion Nurses (RNs) to join our team caring for patients in their homes in the North Miami and Miami Beach areas. We prioritize our employees by offering competitive pay, exemplary support, and flexible scheduling so that they can prioritize our clients.
This position is PRN (as the situation requires) and hours available may vary
Responsibilities

Provide care for infusion patients according to plan of care
Work autonomously in caring for patients and their safety during medication IV infusion
Observe, assess, and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress and communicate this to relevant team and family members
Administer treatments and perform therapeutic procedures
Care for peripheral and central lines
Follow sterile procedure while insertion on IV catheters, and wound care and PICC line care
Use IV insertion experience and technique, PICC line and Port-A-Cath access and care, and sterile dressing changes with some wound care involvement
Some wound care
Responsible for evaluating, verifying, and preparing medications
Coordinate patient care activities and maintain communication with other team members including the agency, pharmacist, and physician
Educate the patient/family about care needs and disease prevention
Follow appropriate infection control measures
Maintain accurate and timely records
Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Florida
Strong skills when it comes to organization and prioritization
Experience with IV insertion, PICC lines, Port-A-Cath care, and dressing changes
Infusion, wound care and/or assessment experience is required
Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicities
Ability to troubleshoot problems that arise in IV therapy
Exceptional standards of patient communication and care
Proficient computer skills in Windows, Excel, and other related software including medical charting
Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure
Maintains continuing education in fields of nursing and infusion therapy
Current CPR certification
Current Florida driver’s license, active insurance, and reliable vehicle
At least 1 year of recent medical surgical, home health, procedural, or critical care experience
Flexibility to complete as many or as few patient visits as needed for the business requirements at that time
