LICENSED NURSING ASSISTANT I-III / LMNA

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full‑time 1st shift vacancy for a Licensed Nursing Assistant I‑III / LMNA. Proposed schedule includes 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM shifts with alternating weekends (additional $2.00 /hour). Summary
LNA I
– Under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff, provides essential support and direct care to residents by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring a safe, clean, comfortable, and enriching environment.
LNA II
– With direction and oversight by licensed nursing staff, independently provides essential support and direct care to residents. Mentors new nursing assistants.
LNA III
– With general oversight by licensed nursing staff, independently provides essential support and direct care to residents and mentors new nursing assistants, making suggestions for care, treatment, and procedural improvements.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
– High school diploma or equivalent credential.
License/Certification
– NH Nursing Assistant license, Driver’s license.
May be required to work non‑traditional hours, and must possess physical stamina for prolonged standing, lifting, transferring, and transporting residents and materials.
Optional Trainee Option
– Candidates without a high school diploma or NH Nursing Assistant license may be considered in trainee status with reduced responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
– Experience in long‑term or geriatric care settings, CPR and First Aid certification, strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
After‑Hire Requirements
Trainees must obtain a NH Nursing Assistant license within six months. All candidates should complete required in‑house training promptly.

In‑Band Advancement available (broad group level advancement and medication certification as applicable to LNA level).
Responsibilities by Level
LNA I responsibilities
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensure proper diet and hydration, support mobility, and help with transfers.
Monitor and record vital signs, collect specimens for routine lab testing, and report changes to supervisors.
Replenish charts, supply medical supplies, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and assist with infection control protocols.
Participate in care plan meetings, record documentation, attend in‑service programs, and support facility operations.
May operate facility vehicles and accompany residents to activities as required.
LNA II responsibilities
Apply independent judgement to daily care and resolve minor physical and emotional needs.
Assist residents with ADLs, ensure proper diet and hydration, support mobility, and help with transfers.
Monitor and record vital signs, assist with screening for medical issues, collect specimens, and report changes.
Serve as mentor for new nursing assistants, provide guidance on policy and procedures, and prepare supply orders.
Participate in care plan meetings and coordinate visits from consulting professional health team members.
May operate facility vehicles, provide support during recreational activities, and follow restraint procedures when necessary.
LNA III responsibilities
Mentor and instruct new nursing assistants; exercise independent judgement to prioritize resident needs.
Assist residents with ADLs, ensure proper diet and hydration, and recommend supplemental assistance.
Collaborate with healthcare team to plan and implement treatment plans, make recommendations for treatments, and coordinate visits from consulting professionals.
Document care, maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and prepare supply orders.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, promote independence, and provide companionship and emotional support.
Follow infection control protocols and recommend practice changes when needed.
Attend in‑service educational programs, organization meetings, and committees; respond to supervision.
Total Compensation Information
