Department Overview
The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an international leader in research and cancer treatment, providing resources to transform cancer early detection, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment. The institute is known for personalized cancer medicine and early detection, fostering visionary leadership and dedicated teamwork to end cancer as we know it.

The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology currently has over 110 faculty, encompassing programs in general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine. The division also oversees faculty in community practices, known as Community Hematology and Oncology (CHO), and collaborates closely with the VA Medical Center. Clinical practices enroll more than 5,000 new patients each year.

The Division, the largest component of the Knight Cancer Institute, aims to provide outstanding patient care, ensure access to high-quality clinical and translational trials, and integrate basic research. The Division has grown significantly over the past decade and is projected to continue growing.

Function/Duties of Position
We welcome applications from clinicians and clinician‑scientists to join our Breast Cancer Program, aiming to grow a comprehensive academic breast cancer program focused on clinical care and collaborative research, providing high‑quality clinical and translational trials. The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an NCI‑Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with established basic science and clinical research capabilities. Our focus now is to create extensive opportunities for collaboration and the development of breast‑cancer clinical and bench‑to‑bedside initiatives.

The duties of this faculty clinician position support OHSU and the School of Medicine missions and include:

Care of patients with breast cancer.

Participation and development of clinical trials, if interested.

Establishment and maintenance of a program of scholarly activity aimed at understanding breast‑cancer causes.

Participation in administrative committees and councils of OHSU, as approved by the Chair and Division Head.

Participation in the education of medical students and house staff per assignments by the Curriculum Committee and Chair.

Engagement in public service through consultative activities with non‑university groups, with consent of the Chair and Division Head.

The clinical faculty position will comprise Clinical, Teaching/Research/Academic, and Service components. Academic rank will be based on qualifications.

Required Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD

Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon

Board‑certified in internal medicine

Board‑eligible/certified in hematology and/or oncology

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and patient care.

Proven success in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Experience in developing and implementing clinical trials.
