
Psychiatric Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

The Psychiatric Account Manager is responsible for building relationships with recognized experts and prioritized stakeholders in the therapeutic area, community mental health clinics, hospital/institutional systems and integrated delivery networks (IDNs).
Responsibilities
Develop and drive relationships with target institutions and community accounts, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with key influencers and decision makers.
Achieve success in a complex, matrixed selling environment, collaborating with cross‑functional partners such as Account Partners, Market Access, Medical, Marketing and Operations colleagues.
Build a strong, collaborative partnership with field‑based colleagues to ensure appropriate cross‑functional support for customers within a defined geography and for developing and executing pull‑through strategies.
Identify key influencers and meet designated customer interaction expectations with a focus on top target customers.
Use data tools and insights to determine strategies and tactics for business decision‑making.
Demonstrate account‑based selling skills, including group presentations, and build relationships in institutions aligned with customer segmentation.
Plan and organize activities to ensure regular and consistent coverage of the territory according to a plan of action.
Deliver clinical brand‑specific presentations of product(s) to physicians and other appropriate health care professionals.
Develop deep product and competitor knowledge and understanding of local and regional market trends.
Manage territory budget to support sales and marketing activities.
Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Execute the company brand strategy and tactics within the assigned geographic area.
Participate in training and development programs.
Maintain adherence to and compliance with all corporate, industry policies and procedures.
Requirements
BA/BS degree required; Life Sciences preferred.
5+ years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Healthcare industry.
Psychiatric experience required. A working knowledge of the schizophrenia field is strongly preferred.
CMHC account management and/or hospital/institutional experience strongly preferred.
Established relationships in the geography strongly preferred.
Knowledge of formulary approval process and driving formulary approvals is preferred.
Must live near to territory boundaries.
Proven track record of success in a high science competitive selling environment.
Ability to identify key decision makers, develop positive relationships and strong customer dedication.
Proven track record of exceeding results.
Self‑starter, highly motivated to succeed.
Strong communication, business analytics and account management skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
