
Nursing Assistant – Medical/Surgical - Part time

Job Overview
75 FTE, 30 hours/week. This Day/Evening position includes variable 8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts: 7am‑7:30pm, 7am‑3:30pm, and 3pm‑11:30pm. One shift per three weekends. Holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI.
Pay and Benefits
Competitive base pay reflecting relevant work experience.
Eligible for a $2,250 sign‑on bonus (pro‑rated on FTE).
Evening and night shift differential.
Weekend differential.
Responsibilities
Support Registered Nurses on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit and provide care to both medical and surgical patients.
Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures, including activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding.
Perform 12‑lead ECGs as required.
Interact and engage with visitors, patients, and family members to establish trusting relationships and deliver high‑quality care.
Qualifications
Graduate of a State of Wisconsin approved Nurse Aid Training Program.
Work Experience
1 year recent experience as a Nursing Assistant (Preferred).
Licenses & Certifications
Registered on the State of Wisconsin Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid Registry (required upon hire).
BLS/CPR certification within 3 months (required).
