Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will assist the Senior Human Resources Manager with a variety of HR functions, including filling hourly positions, completing paperwork, and enforcing company policies. This full‑time temporary role is based at The Atlas Hotel in Boston.
Responsibilities

Explain insurance benefits, assist with enrollment completion, and answer questions.
Compile review lists and distribute to departments.
Compile turnover reports, copy and distribute.
Enter payroll information, including wage data and changes.
Conduct prescreening interviews.
Respond to unemployment claims and maintain an unemployment log.
Maintain new hire, termination, transfer, and promotion logs.
Compile wage surveys.
Monitor and maintain leave of absence logs.
Monitor Workmen’s Compensation claims, complete first reports of injury and employers’ reports of industrial injury.
Answer questions regarding 401(k) plan, vacation and benefits.
Prepare and place recruitment advertising.
Process paperwork for terminating employees.
Schedule orientation and assist in orientation: explain benefits and conduct property tours.
Write articles and take pictures for the property newsletter.
Assist with special projects and plan employee events (meetings, parties).
Qualifications

At least 3 years of progressive HR experience in a hotel or related industry; or a 4‑year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2‑year college degree and 2+ years of related experience.
Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
College coursework in a related field helpful.
Familiarity with employment laws is helpful.
Long hours sometimes required.
Heavy physical requirements: up to 10 pounds may be lifted, carried, pushed, or pulled frequently.
Maintain a warm, friendly demeanour at all times.
Effective verbal and written communication with all employees and guests.
Strong listening, clarifying, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Attend all required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards and scheduling.
Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming.
Comply with hotel standards and regulations to promote safe operations.
Identify problems and assist in implementing solutions.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
